M-cap of top 5 Sensex firms dips Rs 65,570 cr

The combined market capitalisation of top five Sensex companies tumbled Rs 65,570 crore last week led by a sharp decline in the market value of IT major TCS, data from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) showed.
While ITC, CIL, HDFC Bank, SBI and ICICI Bank were among the top gainers in terms of market capitalisation last week, TCS, ONGC, RIL, Infosys and Sun Pharma witnessed a dip in the market value.
The market cap of the country’s biggest IT services software exporter TCS, fell by a whopping Rs 45,883 crore to Rs 478,889 crore last week even as it posted a 13 per cent rise in September quarter profit at Rs 5,244 crore.
RIL’s market value fell by Rs 7,130 crore to Rs 303,454 crore while that of ONGC declined Rs 6,203 crore to Rs 339,867 crore.
The market value of drug major Sun Pharma tumbled Rs 4,339 crore to Rs 165,243 crore while that of Infosys fell by Rs 2,016 crore to Rs 221,302 crore,
While the market value of CIL rose Rs 10,738 crore to Rs 222,052 crore last week, that of ICICI Bank climbed Rs 5,284 crore to Rs 174,252 crore.
The market cap of the country’s biggest public sector lender SBI climbed Rs 5,301 crore to Rs 188,308 crore last week.
